City Libraries kick-off TD Summer Reading Club

This week, the annual TD Summer Reading Club kicked off! This is Canada’s biggest bilingual summer reading program and children up to age 12 can participate with a free bilingual reading kit, available at all City libraries.

Participants can sign up online via the official website to explore recommended reads, track their own reading, write stories and book reviews, and discover jokes, trivia, and colouring sheets. Please phone ahead to arrange contactless pick-up.

For those with children who are not yet reading, we encourage you to participate as well, as reading aloud to pre-readers supports early literacy skill development and improves school readiness. The Club runs until Tuesday, August 31.

For older readers, the Teen Summer Reading Challenge (for Grades 7 – 12) includes an activity challenge card, available by phoning any library branch to request contactless pick-up or downloadable at Winnipeg Public Library – Booked.
