This past June the Lindenwoods Community centre was approved for a Community Centre Renovation Grant. A grant that supports repairs, upgrades, retrofits, safety improvements and renovation projects at City of Winnipeg community centre facilities.
The 100,000.00 grant will be used on the Canteen, Kitchen and Mechanical Upgrades Project.
Starting this fall, the mechanical upgrade will extend the air conditioning to in the entire building, and the heating upgrade will result in being able to reduce down to three heating units, resulting in greater energy efficiencies. While much of the work will be to “behind-the-scenes” systems, visible upgrades that everyone will be able to see will be the improved Kitchen and Canteen.
