I do not support last weekend’s temporary removal of the Hanukkiah from City Hall and am pleased that it is back up.
The Mayor has taken responsibility for the temporary removal of the Hanukkiah, as he and others were concerned that week-end protests may have resulted in vandalism of the Hanukkiah.
The Mayor has apologized for not consulting with Jewish groups prior and that is appreciated.
This is a learning moment for all that we must not hide from hate, but continually apply ourselves to peace.
