South Winnipeg Family Information Centre (SWFIC) is hosting two free tax clinics in conjunction with Community Financial Counselling Services. Come get your taxes filed for free!

To request an appointment, visit www.swfic.org, call (204) 284-9311, or email registrar@swfic.org. Appointments are held on-site at 800 Point Road (Lower Level) and will be approximately 20 minutes. Ensure to bring your ID with full name (MB Health Card, Driver’s License, etc) and Social Insurance Number.
Requirements for free tax filing:
| Modest income limits: | $35,000/yr for singles $45,000/yr for couples *add $2,500 per dependent |
| Simple tax situation: | employment income pension income social assistance RRSP income support payments scholarships, bursaries, grants interest (under $1000) |
They cannot file taxes for:
- Self employment or employment expenses you wish to claim
- Business, commission or rental income & expenses
- Capital gains/losses or bankruptcy
- Deceased persons
Tips:
- Married and Common Law couples are recommended to attend together or there could be a delay in processing
- Even if you have no income to claim, you may be eligible for benefits if you file your return with the CRA
