Grant Avenue is receiving some much-needed rehabilitation!
Starting from 150 meters east of Kenaston Boulevard through to Montrose Street, eastbound Grant Ave will be undergoing some construction. Work will start the week of July 25, 2022 and last roughly four months. The project will continue in 2023 with the reconstruction of the westbound lanes.
Work on Grant Avenue will include:
- Repairing concrete joints and slabs on the existing roadway
- Renewing the curb and sidewalks
- Upgrades to pedestrian crossings and signals
- Reconstruction/relocation of Transit stops
- Placing a new asphalt overlay
- Regrading the boulevard
Traffic Implications:
- Grant Avenue will be limited to one lane in each direction throughout construction
- Phase 1 will move traffic into the median lanes; Phase 2 will move traffic into the curb lanes
- On-street parking will be prohibited throughout the entire construction period
- Turning movements and median openings may be restricted
- Access to business/residences will be maintained along with pedestrian access
We recognize this project will cause some inconvenience and apologize for the disruption. If you have any concerns regarding access off Grant Avenue, such as large truck access, hours of operation, and ability to close approaches to expedite construction or any accessibility needs, please call Morrison Hershfield at 204-977-8370 or by email at gcoolidge@morrisonhershfield.com.
We appreciate your patience during construction and look forward to the newly rehabilitated roadway in 2023.
