No matter the season, Winnipeg parks have something to offer. Getting outside and being active is great for your physical and mental health.
With more than 3500 hectares of parkland in Winnipeg, there is no shortage of parks spaces, new experiences, and amenities to enjoy. Winnipeg parks are open year-round.
During the summer, you can skateboard, play disc golf, lawn bowling, tennis, or use our athletic fields. If you are looking for a water activity, launch your boat, canoe, or kayak at one of our boat docks and canoe launches.
In the winter, you can get some fresh air and exercise on our cross-country ski trails, maintained skating ponds and rinks, and toboggan slides.
Wonderful walking and hiking trails also abound year-round at great locations like Assiniboine Forest, Churchill Drive, Little Mountain Park, St. Vital Park, and along the Seine River. There are also over 150 species of prairie plants and a great array of prairie wildlife at the Living Prairie Museum, a rare tall-grass prairie nature preserve. There are so many natural areas that you can enjoy and appreciate in Winnipeg.
And don’t forget to check out any one of our off-leash dog parks if you have a canine companion.
