New splash pad and pay structure approved for Crescentwood

We are proud to announce that the Corydon Community Centre – Crescentwood site will soon be home to a new splash pad and play structure!

The $1.5 million improvement was approved at the May 30 City Centre Community Committee meeting and will make a huge impact on the neighbourhood’s oldest playground. During the pandemic, we’ve seen significant demand for a spray pad and this addition will lessen the load on the River Heights site.

The new spray pad at 1170 Corydon Ave will replace the current wading pool and be accessible with longer operating hours. In addition to this, both the Crescentwood site and Sir John Franklin site (1 Sir John Franklin Rd) will see funding to spruce up their batting cages.

Work on the batting cages will begin shortly and be completed by the fall. Construction on the splash pad and play structure will commence around this time, allowing the existing wading pool to be used by the community throughout the summer.
