After three years of much-needed renovations and repairs, Cornish Library is finally open to the public!
Originally opened in 1915, Cornish Library now features a 24/7 book return, separate adult and children’s computer areas, redesigned adult and youth collection areas, new lounge areas, and accessible washrooms on the main and lower levels.
The renovation includes an extension to the south of the building with a bright and open reading area overlooking the river. Existing woodwork was kept and refreshed in order to keep the character of this designated heritage library. A new Family Literacy Playground has also been added, with current health restrictions preventing the use of program and meeting rooms at this time.
Cornish Library is operating in accordance with public health restrictions. Capacity is currently limited and guests are encouraged to plan for shorter visits.
