Share your thoughts on the future of City Archives

The City of Winnipeg is looking to hear from its residents regarding the future of the City archives.

Our City of Winnipeg archival collection is one of the most complete in Canada and continues to grow. The next phase of public engagement on the Archives Strategy welcomes our residents to share their opinions on service improvements and the future facility options for City Archives. Residents are able to do so by taking a survey or by attending one of the virtual events in June:

Date: Wednesday, June 16
Time: 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
Location: Zoom, register here

Date: Thursday, June 17
Time: 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Location: Zoom, register here

We encourage all residents to submit their feedback, as the Archives Strategy will outline the City’s vision for the future of the archival collection, including long-term solutions for various storage, preservation, and programming needs. The City of Winnipeg understands the importance of allowing Winnipeggers to continue to have access to records and conduct research.

Public feedback from our residents will help ensure that the final recommendations presented to City Council in late 2021 will best reflect the values of our wonderful community.

Feedback is being accepted until July 5th. For more information, please visit winnipeg.ca/archivesstrategy.
