2018 Corydon CC WinterFest Weekend Fundraiser

Jan 26, 2018 - Jan 28, 2018

Dear Friends of Corydon Community Centre,

In 2011 Crescentwood, River Heights and Sir John Franklin Community Centre's amalgamated to become the Corydon Community Centre. All three sites were retained and still offer a broad range of recreation, leisure, education and wellness activities for people of all ages, abilities and interests. Corydon Community Centre is owned by the City of Winnipeg but run by a volunteer board of directors. Like all community centres in Winnipeg, Corydon receives funding from the City which covers only 12% of our overall operating budget. All other funds are raised through rental of our facilities, programs, and fundraisers, all made possible through the hundreds of volunteers who put in thousands of hours each year.

Our 2018 Corydon CC WinterFest Weekend Fundraiser will be held the weekend of January 26-28th. Friday night kicks off at Crescentwood with free family friendly activities including face painting, photo booth, funky nail bar, bouncers, marshmallow roast, bonfires, horse-drawn sleigh rides, an adult pond hockey tournament, food and beer gardens.

Saturday morning opens with our annual family pancake breakfast. The WinterFest Hockey Tournament for players aged 5-8 years, open gym, tot room and barista coffee bar. The day wraps up with our legendary Big Night Out Social, featuring Garret and Nazeem.

Sunday our open gym activities and hockey tournament continues with the final game being played indoors at River Heights complete with music, play by play announcing and awards ceremony.

The success of this annual fundraiser is largely due to the generosity of our local businesses and families who provide much needed donations to the event. As such, we are currently looking for cash, gift card and prize donations for both our children's and adult raffle baskets and items to include in our 285 hockey tournament swag bags for children ages 5-8.

If you would like to have your business highlighted in our WinterFest Weekend program guide, we have attached the ad specification sheet for your consideration.

All donors will be recognized on our website, newsletter, across our social media platforms, direct emails and on-site promotion.

Thank-you for helping to support, preserve and protect our local Community Centre. Your generous donation will help to ensure that all three of our sites can continue to provide excellence in community based leisure for gerations to come.

If you have any questions or wish to discuss a possible donation, please do not hesitate to contact Marni Waggoner at winterfest@corydoncc.com.

Kindest Regards,

2018 Volunteer Winter Carnival Committee
