The Winnipeg Police Service is proud to be participating in the 2024 Manitoba Hydro Santa Claus Parade.
Parade is our city’s longest running free community event — established in 1909. The lights, excitement, and entertainment of this magical event have made it a holiday tradition for many local families.
Downtown Winnipeg welcomes tens of thousands of families for the parade, so a little advance planning will help you and your elves get to the right spot.
- Give yourself lots of time! Traffic is tight, especially after the roads start closing at 1:30 p.m.
- Plan your trip in advance. Plan your transit route, or which parking lot to aim for. Have a plan B, just in case.
- Be safe. With so many people arriving at once, patience, caution and – we can’t stress it enough – plenty of time are important.
