Feedback Wanted – Garbage & Recycling Plan

Feedback Wanted – Garbage & Recycling Plan

We want to hear from you!

The City of Winnipeg is reviewing its Comprehensive Integrated Waste Management Strategy (CIWMS) and is seeking input from residents. We want to hear your thoughts about current garbage and recycling programs and services. The goal is to understand what is working well, and what requires improvement.

The CIWMS was approved by City Council in 2011 and guides how the City collects, sorts, and gets rid of garbage and recycling. It also provides a roadmap for new programs and services that help fight climate change.

The review is important because we want to make sure that we are providing the facilities, programs, and services Winnipegger’s need to help reduce waste and keep our city clean.

The input provided by residents will help inform draft updates to the CIWMS. This will then be shared for additional feedback in the next phase of public engagement, anticipated to occur in 2024.

Residents can provide their input during the first phase of public engagement through an online survey or by posting on the ideas wall. These are available until November 30, 2023.
