Winnipeg’s Neighbourhood Action Teams are coming to North River Heights.

Winnipeg’s Neighbourhood Action Teams are coming to North River Heights.

They will be in our ward June 16th – July 11th, 2025. This year, they’ll focus on North River Heights .

This innovative new program is designed to solve everyday maintenance issues in one fell swoop – no more crews driving past potholes to trim trees or picking up garbage but leaving fallen branches.

The team will tackle things like:

· Potholes

· Sidewalk displacements

· Leaning and damaged signs

· Debris

· Hazardous tree branches

· Uneven boulevard surfaces

As of May 6, 2025 there were more than 17,000 open service requests related to these tasks. The goal is that the NAT crew will resolve many of these existing issues and close a good portion of these outstanding requests.

It will be a long process, but the goal is that down the road they can fix all problems they see (within their scope) and hear directly from residents to pre-empt the need to make a service request.

The role of NAT crew members also goes beyond just maintenance. They will be present in our communities, talking to residents, and providing answers in real-time.

They’ll ultimately help the City respond to more problems, more quickly.
