City of Winnipeg hiring seasonal positions

The City of Winnipeg is now hiring hundreds of residents for a variety of seasonal jobs!

Public Works has shifted away from posting summer position online and will instead be interviewing people right on the spot at THREE upcoming hiring halls.

The hiring halls are from 2:00 – 6:00 pm on:

Interviews will be for three positions: labourer, student labourer, and gardener.

Labourer
If you like spending time outside and are willing to do physically demanding work, consider applying to be a seasonal labourer. Tasks may include weeding, grounds maintenance, and street/sidewalk repairs. This job requires a minimum Grade 10 education or equivalent. Previous experience in landscaping or construction is an asset.

Student Labourer
If you’re a post-secondary student returning to school in the fall, you can apply for the student labourer position. Tasks may include traffic control, cleaning worksites, and doing grounds maintenance. Please note you must be a post-secondary student; high school students may not apply. The earliest start date is April 15 and latest release date is September 15.

Gardener
Planning floral displays, planting, and caring for a variety of plants are some of the responsibilities of gardeners. If you are familiar with commonly used landscape plants and shrubs and have experience in horticultural practices, you should consider applying. Grade 12 or equivalent education is required and you should be prepared to work in all weather conditions.
