City of Winnipeg 2017 Local Street Renewal Program: Kingsway - Oak Street to Cambridge Street

June 28, 2017

We wish to advise you that construction on the above street renewal project is scheduled to commence on or about July 4th, 2017, as part of the 2017 Local Street Renewal Program for the City of Winnipeg, Public Works Department.

It is expected that construction on your street will take approximately eight weeks to complete. The work will include: removal and replacement of asphalt surface, roadway pavement repairs, curb and sidewalk repairs, and utility and underground infrastructure repairs and adjustments.

The Contractor for this project will be Bayview Construction Ltd. (204) 254-7761.

Construction Staging and Traffic Management

The work will be divided into two stages – eastbound and westbound. The street will remain open to local traffic in both directions at all times, as will access to public lanes, private driveways and intersecting streets. An exception is during asphalt paving operations when one direction may be closed for the portion of a day.

Parking & Pedestrian Access

Parking on the street will not be permitted during construction. Emergency and pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the duration of the project, although pedestrian circulation may be disrupted at times due to sidewalk repairs.

Garbage and Recycling

Garbage and Recycling will continue to be picked up at the regular times and locations.

We recognize the fact that this project will cause you some inconvenience and disruption during its course and we thank you for your understanding and patience during construction.

Those persons with accessibility needs, moving requirements, social functions, any underground appurtenances, such as sprinkler systems, lighting cables, etc. within 6 metres (20 feet) of the street curb line or any other questions are asked to contact Steven Goldstine from WSP at (204) 259-5421, during regular working hours. Your patience during construction will be much appreciated.
