Over the next five to six weeks, Winnipeg’s entire street network, including bridges and sidewalks will be cleaned, as well as designated active transportation pathways, boulevards, and medians.
A website at: winnipeg.ca/springcleanup features everything residents need to know about the City’s spring cleanup activities. The “Know Your Zone” app can tell you when street cleaning happens on your residential street and when temporary parking restrictions will be in place. You can add addresses in the app to receive Spring Cleanup Alerts in advance of planned operations.
Parking restrictions & enforcement: Residents are urged to find an alternate place to park When a street is scheduled for sweeping. This helps the City’s spring cleanup and will prevent you from being ticketed and towed. Please note that not all streets get “No parking” signs ahead of cleanup operations – these are typically only placed on streets that present challenges for crews. Use the Know Your Zone app, and move your vehicle to avoid being ticketed or towed.
Yard waste: Residents are urged to not rake yard waste material or other debris onto streets as this can plug drains and cause ponding problems as well as increase the risk of basement flooding.
