In an effort to assist with physical distancing requirements during the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Winnipeg is expanding its annual bicycle and active transportation route schedule.
Effective Monday, April 6 until Sunday, May 3, 2020, four streets in Winnipeg will be designated as bicycle/active transportation routes. At this time, they will be in place daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The City will re-evaluate at the beginning of May to determine if the designation needs to be extended.
The following streets will be designated bicycle/active transportation routes:
- Lyndale Drive – Cromwell Street to Gauvin Street
- Scotia Street – Anderson Avenue (at St. Cross Street) to Armstrong Avenue
- Wellington Crescent – Academy Road (at Wellington Crescent) to Guelph Street
- Wolseley Avenue – Raglan Road to Maryland Street
It is important to note that these roads are not closed. Cyclists and pedestrians are reminded to use caution and continue to follow the rules of the road.
